The FCCM meeting 2018: 'The Continuum of Critical Care'

The 4th congress on the Future of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM) in Prague has just ended, and we, the speakers and the delegates, return home with our minds full of new ideas, insights and memories. This FCCM followed the tradition of its successful forerunners, yet it was also the first of a kind: besides the 173 attendees on site, APARC succeeded to connect several dedicated members via live stream.

The 4th FCCM scientific program lay in the competent hands of our long-time partners, Prof. Elcee Cagas Conner, President of the Asia Pacific Association for Respiratory Care (APARC), and Prof. John Marini. They brought together a board of extraordinary speakers which covered the entire bandwidth of critical care medicine. During two exciting days we learned about the current and upcoming challenges in Critical Care that doctors face with nutrition, hemodynamic stabilization, sedation, infection control and ventilation.
